“Outside the EU we could set our own VAT rules and act immediately rather than beg for EU concessions that could take years to implement. David Cameron having to plead for change just shows how weak and dependent he is on the EU.  Let’s vote to get out in June and control our own affairs.

The EU has failed women

UKIP MEP Margot Parker has today outlined how the EU has failed women and is actually helping trafficking and exploitation. The East Midlands MEP, in two speeches to the EU Parliament in Strasbourg, has outlined figures from Eurostat which showed that between 2010 and 2012, more than 30,000 people were trafficked across Europe - 80 per cent of them women.

Stop forced marriage, not unequal boardrooms

The EU should stop wasting time trying to define what a woman is and do more to tackle more serious gender issues like female genital mutilation – says UKIP Health Spokesman Louise Bours MEP. In a speech at the European Parliament, the MEP accused the commission of trying to force their view of what a woman is on the wider public and organisations within member states, by introducing boardroom gender quotas and sanctioning companies that don’t comply with their required gender balance.
